Well, well, well I finally get to play in front of people. I’ll be joined by ‘the’ @scottthefiddler . This show is outside, in a grassy field, with a beautiful rustic stage. Socially distanced with two shows the same day to choose from. We’ll be playing some new tunes and some old tunes and maybe a cover or two. I’m excited. I hope you’ll come.

Happy to announce that myself and fiddler Scott Duncan Scottduncan Music will be opening the Calgary Folk Club 2020-2021 Season on Nov. 13th. It is both an in-person concert and an online stream with the in-person being reduced as per AHS COVID protocol. Tix for the show can be found at https://www.showpass.com/cfc-johnworthannam-inperson/ and online stream tix can be found at https://www.showpass.com/cfc-johnworthannam-livestream/

Showtime 7:00 PM

If you're wondering about protocol, we get it. Here is the club's plan:

With lower audience numbers and physical distancing, we are supporting cohort groups seated together in groups of 1, 2, 3, or 4.

Per Calgary bylaws, everyone must wear a mask in the venue.

There will be no tables, liquor, or food. Patrons will be seated and bottled water will be provided at the door.

Reservations will be required to attend the live event. Contact information and guidelines for booking reservations will be finalized and provided soon.

All patrons must remain seated while in the venue except when utilizing the restrooms.

Hand sanitization spray will be provided at all entrance and exit doors.

Following current guidelines, the concert will begin at 7:00PM and end by 8:15PM

In the event of a sell-out, artists are prepared to run a second show beginning at approximately 9:00PM. There are still some questions regarding logistics of a repeat concert and so we will be supporting a waitlist.

My Popa was born in Lymington, UK in 1918. He spent his life farming. This excerpt from his eulogy sums it up nicely, "Frank was a true countryman with that rare understanding of birds and animals, the weather, the soil and the way they worked with each other."

This is him with his terriers and his trusty side by side in the crook of his right arm.

I'm a big proponent of mental health awareness, especially for men. I'll be part of these two Alberta Songwriter Tour shows spearheaded by Blake Reid, and along with Troy Kokol, and Joni Delaurier we'll be singing in support of Do More Ag Foundation, an initiative to raise awareness of mental health for Farmers. The shows are Feb. 28th in Readymade, AB and Feb. 29th in Bow Island. Info and ticket link at johnworthannam.com
